Wildlife

My animal is a gorilla  and it is for world wildlife art caption.  It is a silver back. A silver back is not a silver back until it is a full grown mail.

  1. Kia Ora Lincoln,
My name is Kieryn and I will be working with Kaniere School to comment on your blog posts over the next two terms.
Well done for drawing such a spectacular image of a Silverback Gorilla! I think it was extremely clever of you to have drawn the Gorilla leaning on his front legs, and I really like the way you coloured him silver to represent the Silverback.
I had never heard of a Silverback Gorilla before, so I did some research and found out some awesome facts!
Did you know that Silverback Gorilla’s (also known as Mountain Gorillas) are herbivores who don’t eat meat?
It is a little bit crazy to think about how one of the oldest, biggest animals on the planet is fuelled by plants rather than meat.
Are there any animals which you know of that don’t eat meat?
You are entirely correct when you state that a Silverback Gorilla is not a Silverback until it becomes a fully grown male. I found it so interesting to learn how the species is actually referred to as Mountain Gorillas, and it is only the adult males who get called Silverback’s due to the silver patch of hair which grows on their backs.
You mentioned something about World Wildlife Art Caption. What is this exactly?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
    Keep up the great work!
    Nga mihi
