Still just 26, Cooper is consistently at the sharp end of the professional cross-country mountain bike rankings.
The North Canterbury professional won the UCI junior world title in 2012 and the under-23 rainbow jersey in 2015 – the only New Zealand mountain biker to achieve this feat. He took out the gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the silver in 2018. Cooper is in his fifth year with the Trek Factory Racing team on the world circuit. He has been ranked as high as seventh in the world and was 24th as the World Cup season returned following the Covid-19 break.
Hi Linc how cool is it that you get to write to someone who shares the same thrill and excitement of mountain biking as much as you do. What age did he start mountain biking do you know?
